Your Privacy and Confidentiality
We take your privacy seriously.
Establishing a working relationship and mutual trust is very important to our practice. We understand that for you to feel comfortable talking to us about private and revealing information, you need a safe place to talk about anything you’d like without fear of that information leaving the room. We take protecting your privacy and confidentiality seriously.
Laws are also in place to protect your privacy. The Health Insurance Portability
and Accountability Act (HIPAA) contains a privacy rule that creates national standards to protect individuals’ medical records and personal health information, including information about psychotherapy and mental health.
The HIPAA Privacy Rule is designed to be a minimum level of protection. You can contact the Virginia State Board of Psychology to find out its laws and protections.
